Midjourney Fundamentals
Midjourney turns text descriptions into stunning images. The quality is extraordinary — often indistinguishable from professional photography or illustration. Learn prompt structure, aspect ratios, style controls, and how to iterate toward exactly what you want.
Comprehensive walkthrough from signup to advanced features.
Be specific and visual in your prompts. 'A dog' → generic. 'A wet golden retriever shaking water off on a beach at sunset, shot on Canon 5D, shallow depth of field' → incredible.
Add style references: 'in the style of Wes Anderson' or 'cinematic lighting' or '35mm film photography'. These dramatically shape the output.
Use --ar to control aspect ratio (--ar 16:9 for widescreen, --ar 9:16 for portrait/stories, --ar 1:1 for square).
Midjourney v6+ understands natural language well. Write prompts like descriptions, not keyword soup.
