All methods from simple to nuclear.

Pro tips
·

Simplest first: boiling water + washing-up liquid melts grease blockages surprisingly often.

·

Zip-it tool (£2 barbed strip) pulls hair clogs in seconds.

·

Removing the U-bend? Bowl underneath. The water will be unpleasant.

·

Prevention: sink strainer + shower hair catcher = no repeat blockages.

Step by step
01

BOILING WATER: Full kettle, pour in stages

02

PLUNGER: Block overflow, few inches of water, plunge 15-20 times

03

BAKING SODA + VINEGAR: Half cup each, wait 30 min, flush with boiling water

04

ZIP-IT: Push barbed strip down, twist, pull. Expect hair.

05

TRAP: Bowl under U-bend, unscrew by hand

06

Clean trap, check connecting pipes

07

Reassemble, hand-tighten. Run water, check leaks

08

Fit strainer/hair catcher to prevent repeats
